Creative Photography
I love creative photography and the process of planning an image and the story I want to tell. Can you think of something in your business that needs an eye catching image like these?
Wildlife Knowledge and Understanding
I’ve loved and studied wildlife all my life so it’s no surprise that, being a New Forest Photographer, wildlife photography is a major part of my work. My understanding of the animals and the empathy I have combined with artistic flare results in exceptional images. I enjoy passing on my knowledge to photographers who are keen to learn and I provide individual tuition or small workshops. Next year I am planning 2 workshops called “The Art of Nature Photography” where I aim to give delegate ideas to lift their wildlife photography above the technical and into the artistic. More information can be found here.
Great Portraits
I love meeting and talking to people and I love portrait work. It’s the interaction with the client that gives me ideas of how to say something about them and their lives. It doesn’t matter if it’s a simple family portrait, a professional portfolio portrait or something a bit different, I get great pleasure in creating their images. Some of my portraits have helped people gain work or have given people new confidence and others have become Christmas presents for granny or a Social Media Profile picture and this for me are the best compliments. If you would like some professional photographs of you or the family please take a look at my Portrait Page.
Your Animal Friends and You
But our animals are part of the family too. Doesn’t matter if they are a cat, dog or horse they are dearly loved. Whether you choose to have a portrait of just your pet or if you want to be included too, I can give you a lasting memory to cherish. For my Equine photography please Look Here. How about something to decorate your Home?
I have a lovely collection of local landscapes and wildlife images that would look great on your wall. They can be finished as framed prints, canvasses on acrylic glass prints. You can choose your photograph and choose your size up to 3 metres long. Take a look in my galleries and find something you love.

Komodo National Park and Flores Photo Book
I’ve been using the rainy weather to put together a long overdue flip book from our trip to Indonesia last November. I have so many lovely photos that this one just covers the first 2 weeks which includes our week at Scuba Junkies Komodo and our second week on Flores where we stayed mostly at Labuan Bajo. If you ever think you might like to go Joanne and I would thoroughly recommend you do and we are planning to back in the not too distant future. The coral reefs are stunning, the Giant Manta are amazing, there are so many turtles and the people are very friendly.
Lovely weather, lovely light. Time to get up early
When the weather is calm and you know there will be good light then Pennington Marshes is a great place to go this time of year. The terns are back and I love photographing them when they are fishing. Either as they dive or when they hover. This morning I was lucky enough to find a pair of Little Terns bonding through feeding. Very sweet.

White Fallow Bucks in the New Forest
Hand a chance to photograph some Fallow Bucks in the New Forest national Park this week. One or two of them were starting to drop their antlers but most still had them. There were a couple of lovely White Bucks that were very obliging. I’ve picked these photos because I love the way their eyes are catching the afternoon light.
The Weaker Sex
This photo is from a shoot with Louise Rogers. I decided to use it as a competition entry at the camera club and wanted to focus on her muscle definition and her veins which is why I cropped it the way I did. I rather cheekily called it “The Weaker Sex” and that is one reason why I deliberately kept in the lipstick and enhanced the light falling on the nail varnish. The flash of blond hair helped too. These touches would have been lost if I went down the route of monochrome so I kept the colour image. It’s almost impossible to predict how a judge will react to a photo like this in a club competition so a felt pleasantly surprised when it was awarded 10/10 and a Seal of Merit.
I have a couple more body building shoots lined up soon but this time it will be men. When you get subjects that through disciplined training and years of dedication become extraordinary you have a great opportunity for very striking photos. It’s something that I truly respect which is why I like this genre. Watch this space.
